Hey fellow writers! I hope your writing and all of your other endeavors are going well. I’d like to bring to your attention several poets you should investigate.

Susan Browne: a poet with a realist approach. Her poetry is the furthest from abstract, it screams its messages and stories. She teaches at Diablo Valley College (never heard of that). Her chapbook “Buddha’s Dogs” explores some profound and intriguing aspects of her past with tongue-in-cheek humor and unique perspectives.

Charles Harper Webb: goes by his full name because there are “so many” Charles Webb’s and even another Charles H. Webb in the writing world. Born in Philadelphia, he wrote “romantic dithyrambs” to any girl who caught his eye. After a brief career in psychotherapy, Webb returned to his true love, writing poetry. His poems are raw, powerful, and bizarre, a sure treat to read.  

She’ll bend with the fit and flex until she breaks.
She’ll she you she really isn’t an angle from grace.
She’s losing the race,
She’s messed up her trace.
Yet you still believe she’s an angle from grace.
She doesn’t believe it
And won’t say it’s true.
To be honest she’s really glad she found you.
She cant believe it she never pictured herself as loved
She’s tugging at life and giving herself a shove.
She’s an angle from grace broken or not,
She’s putting herself right on the spot.
She won’t admit it
She won’t say its true
She doesn’t want her life to be through.
She has it good and she knows that well.
She also knows they simply cant tell.
She’s falling apart and its breaking your heart.
She’s putting herself right back at start.
She’s made her mark
So you’re falling apart.
You hate to see her live this way.
Hiding her pain day after day.
She opened up and trusted you.
And let you see what she’s been through.
To you this is all new,
But to her she just wants her life to be through.
You find it so shocking when she cuts her skin…you really can’t see she’s willing to let death in.
She’s willing to let it win.
But until then she’ll continue to
PRETEND.

“But I don’t care”
“I know now,that life is unfair”

“In a world so cold”
“Where memories get old”

“With no one by my side”
“No one there to hold me while I cried”

“With an empty black hole in my chest”
“To the one who put it there,I wish the best”
“I am alone”
“In a place where there is not a single bee”
“There’s no one here,just me”

“A shattered heart”
“Is one that keeps falling apart”
“One that’s harder to fix,than a broken one”
“Having a shattered heart is really no fun”

“Is shattered to over a million pieces”
“As my love for you slowly decreases”
